Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and SauceTab. By creating an account or using the SauceTab app or browser extension, you agree to them.

1. The service

SauceTab is a tool for capturing web pages, selections, and highlights into research buckets, and for organizing, searching, and reasoning over what you save. We may update, add, or remove features over time.

2. Your account

You need an account to use SauceTab. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and provide accurate information.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use SauceTab to break the law or infringe others' rights, including intellectual property rights.
• Capture or store content you do not have the right to save.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data.
• Resell or misrepresent the service, or use it to build a competing product from our confidential information.

4. Your content

You retain all rights to the content you capture and the notes you create. You grant SauceTab the limited license needed to store, process, and display that content back to you and to provide the service's features (such as search, summaries, and citations). You are responsible for the content you capture and for using it in line with the source's terms and applicable law.

5. Our intellectual property

SauceTab, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or to copy the service, except the right to use it as intended.

6. Paid plans

Some features require a paid subscription. Fees, billing cycles, and plan details are shown at purchase and processed by our payment provider. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with reasonable notice.

7. Third-party content and sources

Content you capture originates from third-party websites and belongs to their owners. SauceTab does not claim ownership of that content and is not responsible for it. Respect the copyright and terms of the sites you capture from.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that captured content or generated summaries will be complete or accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SauceTab will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Termination

You can stop using SauceTab and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or to protect the service and its users. On termination, your right to use the service ends; sections that by nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and liability) will continue to apply.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
